on improving Tyranus...

so think about this... Darth Tyranus should have been female. here's how the script would have looked for the fight at the end of attack of the clones:

(Obi-Wan and Anakin run into the room)
(Darth Tyranus enters. The first thing we see are black boots, the camera pans up to show leather pants that appear almost as if painted on. Camera continues rising to see she is wearing a black, skin-tight babydoll with the word "Angelus," surrounded by a heart. She smiles.)

Obi-Wan and Anakin: (In shock) "Countess Dushku!"

[From here the fight progresses basically the same as in the original, except Tyranus appears to find it amusing to grind against Anakin during the fight, while Anakin seems somewhat perplexed by this and finds it distracting.]

(Anakin falls to the ground in pain.)

Countess Dushku: "Aww... Whatsa matter? Did I make it hurt? ... Too bad... I was kinda hoping you'd join me in the dark side..."

(Yoda enters, things get thrown, lightning gets shot around.)

Countess Dushku: "I can see that this fight cannot be decided by our knowledge of the force, but by our skills with a Mʔ!"

(Tyranus pulls out a wicked-looking axe/stake/polearm and stabs Yoda in the heart with the wooden end. Yoda falls to the ground off-camera.)

Countess Dushku: "Yeah baby! Five-by five!"

(Yoda stands up, pulls the Mʔ from his chest and stabs Tyranus in the stomach.)

Yoda: "You missed."

Countess Dushku: "Damn, shorty!"

(Tyranus pulls big pipe down on Anakin and Obi-Wan, distracting Yoda. Tyranus flees.)

card from Beth...

When our story is told,
and it will be told
in song and fable and interpretive dance
and puppet show, people will weep with joy
and, through sobs, say,
"Today we have witnessed love.
How can our lives not be bettered by this?"

...

Okay, the puppet show response
may not be so strong.
People may not be ready for puppets.

so we have been dog-sitting for a friend at work. the dog is about the same size as our cat. black and white, with long hair on its tail and butt, ears, and the backs of its legs. its eyes faced away from each other and it had a massive underbite.
other than that it was pretty good. well ok mostly. it had a very nice disposition and liked being cuddled and held and usually was nice and quiet.
the downsides were this: it basically refused to go to the bathroom outside. we would take it out and it would squat a couple times and maybe pee. then immediately after being brought in, it would poop on the floor and usually pee again.
so therefore, we could not leave it out of the cage at night or we'd have a major mess in the morning. so she proceeded to yip and bark all night long. all. night. long. i spent about an hour with her friday night trying to get her to fall asleep so that i could then do the same. only to have her wake up an hour or two later and start the whole process over. stupid dog. i'm so glad rumpels doesn't meow and whine all night and keep us from sleeping. she's such a good kitty.
and this brings us to the pictures... thursday evening, the dog decided she wanted to chase rumpels. it's the only time in 4 days that they didn't get along. or if not along at least it was the only altercation. anyway... for whatever reason this dog decided it would be fun to chase rumpels around the house. i was sitting on the couch with my computer (much as i am now in fact) and somehow rumpels managed to run ACROSS my face and then jump off and onto the window ledge. i was left with the marks you can now see. the upper picture was taken about an hour after it happened and the lower picture was taken about half an hour ago. grr stupid animals. at least it wasn't rumpels' fault it happened, otherwise i don't think i'd be able to have her around as an inside cat any more. but since she was being chased and was only trying to get away i can't really blame her. but yes, the deepest gouge was definitely less than a quarter of an inch from my eye. and i definitely exploded and confined both animals for several hours after the incident. wow was i pissed. don't know yet if there will be a scar. not quite sure how i'd feel about one anyway. beth promises she will still love me and find me attractive if i have one. :-) so the question is do i want my face to be like it was before or do i wanna look like a pirate?

in other news, went trap shooting yesterday. that was fun. there were 6 people, 3 guns, and 250 shells.... we were there less than an hour before we ran out of ammo. lol. still fun getting to spend time with work guys outside of work.

oh, we also had 2 fish die over the weekend.

blanket hog.

so the past several nights, i have woken up feeling chilly. i open my eyes, look around, and realise that the reason i am chilly is that all the covers have been stolen from me. the sheet is completely gone, and the comforter comes across me to about the middle, leaving half of me exposed directly to the air coming from our air conditioner. (which is, needless to say, cold)
now, since i am the largest person in the bed, don't you think i should have the largest amount of the covers? but nooooo... she doesn't think so, she's just a blanket hog. rolls over in the middle of the night and surrounds herself with them completely, leaving me with nearly none. it's obnoxious. i've even complained about it several times but she keeps doing it! and won't even apologise the next day!
ugh. it's really starting to be annoying. beth thinks so too, she's tired of being cold as well. you know, we just might have to start making the cat sleep on the floor...
